Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass Hydrophobic Glass Coating 15ml Overview
Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass is an extremely durable hydrophobic glass coating that improves wet weather visibility and makes
glass easier to clean. Unlike regular rain repellents that rely on weak physical bonds, G1 uses a chemical bond, giving it unrivalled
durability on glass surfaces.
The hydrophobic function helps water bead and clear quickly from the glass, improving safety and reducing eye strain in wet
conditions. It also makes the removal of contaminants such as ice, bugs and tree sap significantly easier.
G1 only works on glass substrates and is not suitable for modern polycarbonate headlight lenses. For headlights and Perspex,
Gtechniq G5 Water Repellent should be used instead. The 15ml bottle is ideal for windscreens only, while the 100ml bottle is
recommended for treating all vehicle glass. G1 is supplied with G2 Residue Remover.

Why Use Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass?
Unlike conventional rain repellents that adhere using weak physical bonds, Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass chemically bonds to
the glass surface. This gives it outstanding durability and long-lasting hydrophobic performance, even under regular use and harsh
weather conditions.
Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass Application Information
- Work in a well-ventilated area at temperatures of 5°C or above.
- Wear gloves and do not apply in direct sunlight.
- Clean glass with G6 Perfect Glass and an MF5 Power Glass Cloth.
- For best results, machine polish glass with G4 Nano Glass Polish, or apply by hand using a polishing pad.
- Clean glass back to a shine using G6 Perfect Glass and an MF5 or MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Cloth.
- Shake the bottle well before use.
- For windscreens, apply 3 layers; for side and rear glass, apply 1 layer.
- Apply G1 liberally to an AP1 Lint-Free Applicator Pad and work into the glass in a circular motion.
- Allow to cure for 5 minutes.
- Apply the second layer side to side and cure for a further 5 minutes.
- Apply the third layer vertically and allow to cure for 15 minutes.
- Remove cured residue using G2 Residue Remover and an MF1 cloth.
- Finish by cleaning glass and wiper blades with G6 Perfect Glass and an MF5.
- Do not expose the vehicle to the elements for at least 12 hours.
Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass Storage and Notes
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Use G1 and G2 within 3 months of opening.
- Some wiper blade judder may occur and usually disappears within two weeks.
